Collection: Punch Needle Clutches

These clutches are handcrafted by skilled Wayuu artisans Rafa Uriana and Juana Apushana in Riohacha, La Guajira, Colombia. Using a punch needle technique also called tapizado, is a vibrant textile art that allows the artisans to make whatever image they want to. Using a specialized punch needle tool, artisans weave colorful yarn through the fabric, creating a richly textured surface with soft loops on the back and smooth, intricate stitches on the front. This process allows for detailed, bold designs that are not only visually striking but some designs are inspired by traditional geometric patterns and daily life in the desert peninsula they call home. While are more modern and have fun, bold designs.

Practical and stylish, this clutch is designed to hold your everyday essentials while adding a unique, handcrafted touch to your outfit. Its size and structure make it perfect for carrying: your phone, wallet or credit cards, keys, makeup items, cash and coins, identification cards, a small notepad and pen for quick notes, earbuds, and more!

Lightweight yet durable, the clutch fits comfortably in your hand or can be tucked inside a larger bag, making it ideal for both casual outings and special occasions. Whether you're heading to a market, a social gathering, or just out for a walk, this clutch is a functional piece of wearable art that tells a story and supports Indigenous artisans. Get it as a hand clutch or with straps to make it into a crossbody purse!
