These beaded necklaces are hand-made by Misak women who are part of an Indigenous-owned and operated collective called Arte Misak, located in Silvia, Cauca, Colombia. Each necklace is beaded using different techniques such as stringing, where beads are threaded onto a string or wire, and loom beading, which involves using a specialized loom to weave beads into flat shapes with intricate images and details.
