Maiz Set ✻ Inga Beaded Earrings + Bracelet Set
Maiz Set ✻ Inga Beaded Earrings + Bracelet Set
These statement fringe earrings and bracelet combo are hand beaded by Inga Awaska, a beading and cultural workshop of Indigenous Inga Women in Putumayo, Colombia.
Filled with intricate, detailed, and storytelling symbolism that expresses Inga culture & heritage.
The symbol showed in these earrings is called "Sarra", meaning "maiz" or "corn" in the Inga language. It is an important symbol for the community considering that corn is a staple food! I had this design custom made after falling in love with the way the artisans decided to interpret the sign in their own way through beadwork. Definitely a beautiful mix of both modern and traditional touches.
