100% Handcrafted | One-of-a-Kind | Fair Trade | Indigenous-Made
These statement fringe earrings are hand-beaded by Inga Awaska, a beading and cultural workshop of Indigenous Inga Women in Santiago, Putumayo.
Filled with intricate, detailed, and storytelling symbolism that expresses Inga culture & heritage.
The symbol shown in these earrings is called "Sarra", meaning "maiz" or "corn" in the Inga language. It is an important symbol for the community considering that corn is a staple food! I had this design custom-made after falling in love with the way the artisans interpreted the symbol through their unique beadwork. A beautiful blend of modern and traditional elements.
